Garrett's 8th Birthday

Garrett turned eight on November 14th. He was baptized on December 2nd. Garrett is such a sweet boy. We are so proud of him for choosing to be baptized. Some of Garrett's favorite things to do are: Playing outside, Loves math, teases Kyle, He is a little smarty pants at school. He loves Star Wars Legos right now.

Kyle's 6th Birthday

Kyle turned six on October 30th. We had a Halloween/Birthday party for him at our house. He was going threw his Indiana Jones faze at that time (Wall-E is stupid now MOM!!!) and so I made him an awesome cake at The Cocoa Bean-and we had lots of friends and family over for the party.

This was unexpected......

The Family

Poor Mike...

Kyle, Conner, Garrett

So on Thursday night, Mike was painting his shop (Man Cave). He decided that it would be a good idea to clean out the spray gun-and when he was doing that he hit the trigger on the gun and cut his finger open a little bit and some of the cleaning solution got into the cut. He didn't think much of it-but he cleaned out the cut and went on with the night. It started to hurt him really bad. He said that on a scale of 1-10 he was at a 9-10 in pain. His finger started turning black. We finally decided to take him to the emergency room at 3 A.M. on Friday morning. He thought that the doctor was going to laugh at him for coming in and wanting some pain meds for a little cut in his finger-Little did we know.....

So the doctor looked at it and immediately said that he needed to be prepped for surgery right away. As you can imagine-we are both in shock at this point-we were definitely not expecting surgery for a little cut on his finger.

They said that it is kind of like a rattlesnake bite-They had to get out all the poison so that it would not travel up the arm and into the heart-if untreated they said it could be fatal.

The doctors had to cut open his finger and into his palm to clean out the "poison" from the cleaning solution that had gotten into the cut.

The doctor basically cut it open and left it exposed-right now it is all wrapped up but not stitched up-last night they came to change the bandages and gauze and Mike saw the bone and everything in that finger.

On Monday they have to do surgery again to make sure that everything is out of the palm-and then hopefully they will stitch everything up and we can go home...

We are so surprised at all of this-I hope that Mike has a full recovery and that all will be well. We are so thankful for family and friends! Thanks for coming and seeing Mike-It means a lot to us to have so much support.

Mike's Big Pronghorn

Mike was lucky to draw on a Antelope permit this year. He and Lyle woke up early Friday and headed out to the desert. They spotted this great buck and Mike crawled about 500 yards to get close enough for a muzzle loader shot. Three hours later he had this big boy in his hands. Anyone who knows Mike knows that he is a happy man. A great start to a hopefully great hunting season for him this year.

Around The House

Just some pictures of my house and garden. Mike and I have been very blessed in our lives. We were lucky enough to be able to live in the home that my Grandparents lived in. We have really tired to keep up the yard and garden-I hope that it would make my Grandparents proud. We live out in the country and it is so wonderful that our boys have a big back yard and a lot of dirt to make mud pies. I just feel so lucky. Oh, and I have 2 cows, we have a pasture in the back and it was just getting way to over grown.
